Welcome

On Wednesday 10^th June 2015, Elżbieta Bieńkowska, European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurships and SMEs, and Neven Mimica, European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, hosted the European Union (EU) - Community of Latin America and Caribbean States (CELAC) Business Summit under the theme "Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean: Promoting inclusive and sustainable growth by enhancing the role of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises".

The event was an opportunity for representatives of the business community, financial institutions and policy makers from across EU and CELAC Member States to come together, share ideas and strengthen ties.

The Business Summit Statement has been submitted as a formal recommendation to the EU-CELAC Heads of State and Government Summit (Brussels-Belgium, 10-11 June 2015) on the way forward to increase EU investment and business cooperation in Latin American and Caribbean countries.

The European Commission-DG GROW launches an EU / Latin America survey on intellectual property, internationalisation and SMEs.
